An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
